Dana Reichman, AFP Student, Receives Hibbs & UEPS Scholarships


Arabic Flagship Program student, Dana Reichman, was recently awarded the Hibbs and UEPS Scholarship – both for the 2011-2012 academic year. Dana was nominated for the Hibbs Scholarship by the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, and for the UEPS by Plan II.

The Hibbs Scholarship is made available through the Mary Sue Hibbs Estate, and awards students an amount up to $2,000. Undergraduate students majoring in Middle Eastern languages and cultures who have completed at least 60 semester hours of undergraduate work, including at least 30 hours in residence at the University, with a grade point average of at least 3.70 are eligible.

Dana is a Plan II Honors and Middle Eastern Studies major who joined the AFP in fall 2010. She is a student of the 2011 Arabic Summer Institute and eventually, would like to work abroad as either as a Foreign Service Officer or with an NGO. The Arabic Flagship Program congratulates her on these notable scholarship achievements.
