Spring 2010 Internships

Below you will find the current offering of AFP Internships for the Spring 2010 semester. These are only available to current Flagship students.

AFP Office Assistant (1)
No minimum level of Arabic required – 10 hours per week during the semester – great way to gain some administrative experience and use your Arabic in a professional setting. Duties include poster design, blogging in Arabic, helping with events, and any other duties as required – very varied!

Video Production (2)
Minimum level of Arabic – 3rd year or above – 6 to 8 hours per week editing and subtitling professional video taping of the AFP. RTF Experience Required.

Arabic House Assistant (1)
No minimum level of Arabic required – 4 hours per week to help us find and set up this exciting living environment. Preference will be given to a student interested in living at Arabic House.

Video Cataloging Project (2)
Minimum level of Arabic – 3rd year or above. You will watch, categorize, and convert videos to DVDs and then create a library with labels on DVDs, and an index. (6 to 8 hours per week – working with Mahmoud Al-Batal)

Language and Culture Program Mentor (1)
Minimum level of Arabic – 4th year required, 5th year preferred. 3 to 4 hour commitment per week tutoring students, occasionally attending events to provide support, etc. This internship needs to be filled immediately.
